5 Eyes Illustration.

5 Eyes.

For this illustration was trying to show the themes the 5 eyes Alliance
I chose to a bus stop scene because of it mundanity and because it is
recognisable and relatable. the surveillance camera is integrated in such a way so that it doesn't interfere with the general public.
This was done to represent the unobtrusive nature of the government surveillance and its place in common society.

There are other references to the 5 eyes Alliance in this illustration such as the 5 eyed smiley face symbol on the rubbish bin, the flags on the news paper, the illuminati triangle one the mans hat and the bus stop number.

Conquest.

Board Game Design.
'Conquest'

The Theme.

The idea to do a Chinese Checkers in the theme of a war game,
was inspired by my resent playing of game such as; Dominion, Settlers of Catan and Carcassonne. I thought this would bring a new feeling to the game and add another layer to the connection between the player and his or her game pieces.

Dominion

Carcassonne

Settlers of Catan

The Style.

The style of the game board was inspired by wood etched map,
such as the ones shown below. I felt this theme would bring a feeling of
authenticity to the design. I don't think I quite captured the style on a technical level,
but for the time it took I thought it would suffice.

Time and Void.

Uroboros Clock Design.
'Time and Void'

'Time and Void'

This name was inspired by a favorite quote of mine by the Greek philosopher Democritus.
The quote reads:

"By convention sweet
and by convention bitter,
by convention hot,
by convention cold,
by convention color;
but in reality atoms and void"

I felt this quote had relevance to my clock design, in that 'time' is a human construct,
composed to help us quantify the movement of life in a way that fits our number orientated brains.

Uroboros.

Definition:

"A circular symbol depicting a snake, or less commonly a dragon, swallowing its tail,
as an emblem of wholeness or infinity."

I chose the Uroboros symbol as the base of my clock because of its connection to infinity.
I feel this connection made for an interesting contrast between 'time', which can be measured and has a theoretical beginning and end, and 'infinity' which can not be measured and has no beginning and end.
This is why I chose to not include numbers on my design,
as that would infer a beginning and end.

This is a common depiction of Uroboros and my main reference.

Infinity.

Definition:

The state or quality of being infinite.
"the infinity of space"

An infinite or very great number or amount.
"an infinity of combinations"

a point in space or time that is or seems infinitely distant.
"the lawns stretched into infinity"

This is the most common symbol used to represent infinity.
I used this symbol to emphasise the theme of infinity in my design and rendered it with
the scales of Uroboros to tie the piece together.

Protection Symbols.

"A protection symbols used against demons and creatures of evil."

I chose this symbol to represent the peoples fear of passing time and their impeding end.
I wanted to depict a symbolic 'breaking of infinity' to represent mans incredulity towards the Infinite.
I did this by placing the protection glyph over the centre of the infinity symbol.
Therefore breaking the cycle of infinity.

The Pentagram.

"A circle around a pentagram contains and protects.
The circle symbolises eternity and infinity, the cycles of life and nature.
The circle touching all 5 points indicates that the spirit, earth, air, water
and fire are all connected."

In my design I stamped the pentagram symbol on the face of Uroboros to further
emphasise the theme of infinity. I chose this symbol because it is often misinterpreted
as a mark of evil and devil worship. I felt this was a good example of
the fear of the Infinite.

The Green Screen of Fawkes.

That concludes the shooting days for the Best of Fawkes. I was there the hole time except for the last 10 minutes of the last day. The shooting went fine, a bit over schedule but that's to be expected. One person who was a great asset on the film set was Sarah Dewbery.
She kept her cool and was a lot of help with the vfx.
In the end the jobs i feel i did in the film shoot were:
  • On Set Prop Manager
  • Art Detectors Assistant
  • On Set Co Costume Manager
  • Set Dressing Team
  • Script Adviser
  • Continuity Supervisor
  • Vfx Supervisor 4 Out of 8 Days

(Again, not all of these are official and for some of them I had help)

Green Screen and The Sleeping John.

Here is some more shots from the green screen shoots. Michael and Shaun were away on personal business (different personal business) for all the green screen days, so I was the vfx supervise and Chris was my assented for the days they were away.

Lynch in His Element.

Here's Lynch's finished costume. This one was a real team effort.
I did the original concept art and all the mettle work including the mask , John did one of the gauntlets and both the antlers, Chris did the finger armor and Sarah and Lana did the fabric. It all came together for a pretty sweet costume.

Dirty Useless Macs.

One of many meeting in the mac lab. that room is life sucking.
This meeting was about the website, It looks good.
